take a shopping trip to San Francisco the first week in December. We have had some pretty mind blowing, money spending, alcohol drinking, late night partying times. It really sort of kicks off the holiday season for us……
This year we stayed at the St. Francis Westin, the highlight of which was not the musty old room (no complaints, as it looked directly on Union Square), but rather the new Michael Mina restaurant. It is an experience…. Here is a quote from some cuisine magazine

This year none of us made it into Macy's... Sort of a disappointment, because our favorite thing to do is ring up each other on our cell's and yell "I'm in Macy's... and I can't find the way out....." Those of you who have tried to find an exit at Macy's know from which I speak. Even when you manage to find an exit, once out, it requires five minutes of total concentration and a magellan GPS to figure out which street you are on and which way to Gump's or Nordstrom's.... Speaking of Nordstrom's..... Oh my, the SF Shopping Centre is going to have to drop some BIG BUCKs to catch up with the new Westfield's.... It is all.... very amazing. So much for the bad economy....

Girrrrrl, I used to work at that Macy's! In shoes, in impulse, and cosmetics. Them was some good times! Sounds like fun!

ok, this is me, very jealous. I have been to frisco exactly once, and I was 8 months pregnant at the time (Read: not into doing much. Everything hurt!). So I plan on returning, sans SC and sans possibly Male Person, so I can go and do the fun stuff.
Adding Macy's to my checklist :D
Danielle: Bloomingdale's was (for me)like being on a 'back to the future acid trip'....the store itself reminded me sooooo much of shopping with my grandmother to Bullock's Wilshire on Lake Ave in Pasadena. All chrome and glass and sleek and quiet and 'austere'. Except not so much quiet and austere at Bloomies. They were totally unprepared for the onslaught of the million man shopping brigade. But we did manage to spend enough to score some big 'thank you' gift cards..... which we spent at the Stanford Mall...
Have you been to the foreign cinema cafe in the Mission district?
MsDivine: There are fun things to do with a male person tagging along too! It's definitely not all shopping:)
Girrrrrrrrrl, that Macy's used to be my shortcut from the bus stop to work. You should really figure it out because it's much warmer and strangely less crowded (at certain times of year) than the sidewalk. Plus you can pick up your pantyhose, or Origins White Tea Moisturizer or whatever on your way.
